Needs about 10-15 hours to break in. Comes pretty close to the original betas in terms of performance, but the elephant in the room (literally) is how heavy the V2's are.

With that being said, the V2R2 is certainly better than the R1's if you're sensitive to weight, but the R5 is the best shape for this new iteration of Ripples

This has so much good that I expect more and more Ronbus users. Quality of construction is awesome. The spin and power are instantly noticeable. The grip is great and I was instantly all smiles while using this over a Head and a Selkirk paddle. It was also pretty smooth when used compared to a half dozen other paddles friends had. It is the new fav for sure with many game wins to show for it.

Iconic in many ways

Ripple sparked significant controversy over the past 18 months. While its influence has waned, it will be remembered as a pioneering technology that helped shape the market. Under PBCor 43 regulations, it remains one of the most powerful legal instruments ever introduced. Among the lineup, the R2 shape stands out as the most forgiving design. Every moment with it was truly enjoyable!

Still quick in hand with excellent pop. Quiet and deceptively powerful. Initially, slightly stiff but will break in after a couple of sessions. Currently is one of the most powerful paddles on the market. Get one!!!

Seamless power without much sacrifice

I've had about 24 hours of total play with the V2R2 after coming from Apes Pulse V for 5-6 months. I don't have a racquet sports background so generating power on my drives and put-aways have been a struggle. This paddle has solved most of my issues and has allowed me to feel more confident in my offensive game. My level of control is still comparable to my Pulse V for the most part although it took me about 8-10 hours of play/drilling time to get used to the feel of the paddle. The heavy swing weight that has been reported by many has not been an issue for me. I have even customized it with four inches of 0.5 g/inch on 4 and 8 o'clock positions of the paddle and I don't feel any significant reduction in my hand speed at the net. I would recommend this to most, but the only quarrel I have is the high price. However, competing in anything 4.0 and above is going to be littered with expensive paddles, so I guess there is some pay to play component for higher level competition.

Loving it!

While the increased weights were initially a concern, this is probably the first paddle in a long time that I played straight out of the wrapper without any additional weight. I wrapped the grip with grip tape and haven't looked back. I found that the paddle plays great stock, sweet spot for days, and does everything the previous Ripple did with the slightest drop in power. This paddle is power, pop, and touch, albeit touch takes a little dialing in, and maneuverable at the net.

Power and control!

This is still my go to paddle for the right amount of power, control and spin. I love it. It has a big sweet spot and is pretty forgiving. It has good pop but man the drops and dinking with this paddle is ????. I did add 2in of .5 lead tape on all corners.

Nice paddle

Very nice paddle. Similar feel, power and pop as the Ripple beta but a little slower at the kitchen because of the higher swing weight.

Amazing Paddle

My initial concern with this paddle was will I be able to tame the power. Been using it for 3 weeks now and also used it in a tournament. This paddle has transformed my traditional Trufoam pickleball game into a tennis like game. I'm able to relive the days of old with heavy topspin crosscourt and down the line shots. There is unbelievable spin from this paddle. My serves from the CRBN Trufoam would jump up, the R2 V2 would dive down. The grit is showing a little wear but at this point I don't really care. I will keep using it until it is only a power paddle. As for dinks and resets this has allowed me to relax my hand and allow the paddle to truly do the work. Excellent work Ronbus!

Favorite shape

Love the r2 shape, and really excited to try the r5!

"heavier" but powerful

This was the heavier of 2 recent purchases. I generally prefer the lighter but when I get in a game with power bangers I get out the R2. I can hit with the bangers and I think the extra weight is good and stable for blocking power hits or returning heavy hits. Still prefer a lighter paddle for most games

Power and Fun

This is a power paddle with control. Not to be confused with a paddle designed for control. However, if you are a player that wants power, but still desires to maintain balance through the transition zone and kitchen line, this paddle does the trick.

Best combination of power, spin and control on the market. LOVE this paddle. It's magic.

She SLAPS (but, she's not for everyone...)

THE GOOD: high velocity pop on counters, speed-ups, and overheads. If you make it to the kitchen line and choose your attacks (or counter attacks) wisely, the Ripple is a PUNISHER. Coming from a control-oriented paddle, I noticed a significant improvement in my ability to stun opponents with counters that "rippled" back onto them before they could adjust for the next shot. Bodybaggers, take note! I also find it easier to apply pressure on high drops and put away my overheads. I am more powerful at the NVZ line, and for my game it is worth the trade offs mentioned below.THE BAD: feels like a plank. Not forgiving on resets or volleys. Minimal "plushness" or dwell time. Sweet spot is adequate, but not exceptional. These can be overcome with drilling and soft hands. You will learn to let the paddle do more of the work. Often times, a little block at the right angle will achieve the desired result without any significant swing at all. It takes getting used to and impatient players may not appreciate the adjustment. Compared to the current Gen 4 competitors, the Ripple V2 is likely the least well-rounded option, but for certain players it will undoubtedly be the favorite. If you are relatively skilled with soft hands and good technique, the Ripple is a deadly weapon. If you struggle with consistency and transition zone, it's only going to aggravate your weaknesses. I like the paddle and will continue to main it for a few months, but I believe future iterations will be able to improve on the current formula. The #1 tweak/improvement I would like to see in future models is: LOWER SWING WEIGHTS (~105-110 ideally). The stock version is playable, but when I added any extra perimeter weighting it swiftly became too slow for my preferences. If we can get the face to feel a little more plush while retaining the awesome pop levels, that would also be a nice tweak. Overall, the Ripple really slaps, but I can't recommend it for low skill players, or those who prefer a control paddle. Keep up the good work, Ronbus![FWIW my DUPR is ~4.75]

The best so far

My new Ripple R2 has quickly risen to become my go to paddle. The paddle has nearly the same power level as the previous version, and retains the great spin. I’m also finding the level of control to be top notch, aided by slightly less pop than the previous non-legal version. Highly recommended.

I have had the new Ripple for about 3 weeks now and it just keeps getting better. I am enjoying effortless resets, crazy topspin serves, awesome paddle battles and interesting "Compliments" from opponents. "What's going on? You normally don't play this well..." I LOVE the grip on the paddle and the balance is amazing. I want to get a couple of demos to share with my friends... when they play with mine they are a little nervous that it is too powerful for them. I feel it is super controllable and I play with a lot of spin and this paddle really leans into that. Go get some!

Another winner from Ronbus!

I've loved all the Ronbus paddles I have tried. The Beta ripple R2 was my favorite, and after some adjusting to the slightly heavier V2 ripple R2, I have a new favorite. I love the standard shape and the V2 power with serves and drives and it is easy to control in transition and at the nvz.

Well-balanced paddle

I'm a big fan of the R2 for its stability for resets, maneuverability in the kitchen, and high level of pop which allows me to end points easier. Paddle also allows for great feel of the ball for a decent control game.

Love this paddle!

Love this paddle. Coming from the CRBN Trufoam Genesis 2 I found with the Ripple V2 R2.14 I have as much or more control/feel/touch along with greater pop and power than the Trufoam if needed. I use as is, no added weight needed for my tastes. Unlike some other reviews I’ve seen, I don’t find any problems with swing weight at all and I’m a guy that usually likes lower swing weights for quicker hands. Highly recommend trying this paddle out!

Best standard paddke

Even with a heavier swing weight the paddle gets the job done. Blocking and resets are easy. Don't need any weight added unless you're trying to get more plow through. Right out of the bag this plays fantastic. To be honest what more could you want? It hits hard has great spin with control and pop to body bag anyone. Dinking is easy and I suck at that. So if it's easy for me imagine what someone with talent could do.lolI'm 74 and play against younger players all the time. To be honest most people are younger compared to me.This paddle just makes the game so much easier and it levels the playing field for a lot of us!

I love this paddle even more

This paddle has such a good sweet spot. I only added 3 grams of weight to the edge guard and now I feel invincible. My counters are on point and they can't even get the ball back.

Great Paddle

The V2 R2 has excellent power and spin. I also love the control of this standard shape with a huge sweet spot. I highly recommend this paddle. Great Job again, Ronbus!

Great power and control

I've been playing with this paddle for a little over a week now. And the more I play with it, the better it feels. Others have mentioned a break-in period where the paddle loosens up, the sweet spot grows, and the feel improves. I am experiencing the same break-in of the paddle. My favorite characteristic is the extra pop at the kitchen on counters and blocks. And even with that extra pop, the touch is there. I can soften up my grip pressure and hit one-handed resets from the mid-court and the kitchen line. The power for drives and overheads is there as well.I'm loving the paddle.

It's back !

The Ripple V2 R2 is the most powerful widebody paddle on the market. After break in it plays very similar to the early beta ones. It has decent power and top tier pop yet has a soft touch for a Gen 3 paddle which makes it controllable in soft game.It 's relatively heavier with higher SW than normal wide bodies but this allows playing it very forgiving stock with no need to add weight.

I started with the Pulsar 1, then Nova, and onto Pulsar R2 FX. I was waiting for the Ripple to be released late last year and finally got the V2 R2.14. The paddle plays effortlessly, my dinks go where I wanted them to go, it handles the resets with easy, and I can still drive the ball fast with or without spins. My goto paddle.
