This thing hits unlike any other paddle i’ve used, the power is just insane and it’s the most fun paddle i’ve used to play with. Along with the power the sound is so unique and is amazing, would recommend 10/10!!!
The EV2 is a great paddle. Its power allows your to serve bombs, counter, and put away balls easily. There is a distinct quiet thunk when the paddle strikes the ball. Everyone I play with always asks me about my paddle when they hear it. It's good for throwing off your opponent because they never know how hard you are hitting the ball. In my opinion, this paddle is better suited for intermediate to advanced players. I bought this paddle when I was a beginner and I had trouble controlling it. I'm a 3.8 now and can control the paddle just fine. It helps to add 3 grams of weight on each side of the throat.
I let a player try one so she bought it. Then she liked it so much she bought another one "just in case". Now her game has progressed and every now and then she thanks me for it. I've watcher her improve and she's having more fun. I wish I could offer personal comments but I'm sure she would give it stars. Oh, she has no interest in tournaments so there is no problem with lack of approval and the local "rec" folks don't care. If anything happens to her paddle she'll be looking for another. My stars are based on her satisfaction
This paddle has the most pop and you can really feel the trampoline effect. I haven't messed with the mod-ta or new gearbox gen 3 paddles but I'd think this has more pop than those. That being said it's a great paddle for the price and super fun to play with. It's obviously not approved for tourney play and some people at the park might make a fuss about it, but other than that there's not too many downsides to this paddle. I will say I don't recommend for a beginning player, I think it's fun to play with but I would value developing short game first over smashing balls at unthinkable speeds with this paddle.
Ronbus EV2 Paddle ReviewThe Ronbus EV2 is a powerhouse paddle that stands out for its impressive energy return and spin capabilities, although it’s worth noting that it’s not a USAPA-approved paddle due to its exceptional power. As an instructor and avid player, I’ve found that the EV2 brings a unique edge to the game.Power and Energy Return:The standout feature of the EV2 is its incredible power, thanks to the EVA foam core, which delivers outstanding energy return. When you hit softly, the ball comes off the paddle with just the right amount of touch, but when you hit hard, the paddle responds with explosive power. This dynamic range allows you to control the pace of the game and catch your opponents off guard.Control:Despite being a power-heavy paddle, the EV2 offers decent control. The EVA foam helps to absorb shock and gives a more forgiving feel on softer shots, making it easier to execute dinks and resets when needed. The balance between power and control makes it an adaptable option, allowing you to transition smoothly from aggressive drives to delicate touch shots.Spin:The EV2 excels in generating spin, thanks to its textured surface. The paddle grips the ball effectively, allowing for insane topspin, backspin, and sidespin. This level of spin makes it challenging for opponents to predict the ball’s trajectory, giving you a significant advantage during rallies.Build Quality and Feel:The paddle feels solid and well-constructed, with a comfortable grip that fits securely in your hand. Its lightweight design allows for quick reactions at the net, while still providing the stability needed for power shots from the baseline.Final Thoughts:The Ronbus EV2 is an outstanding paddle for players who want to dominate with power and spin. While it’s not USAPA-approved due to its strength, it’s an excellent option for recreational play or for those who want to push their game to the next level. The dynamic range of the EVA foam core makes it suitable for players who want a paddle that adapts to both soft and aggressive play.Rating: ????? (5/5)Highly recommended for players looking for unmatched power, spin, and versatility on the court!
